Why I must not use a personal email in my business?

When the email started it solved a lot of communication problem over the world, after the message need five or six days to reach its destination, the email solved this issue and made it reach the destination instantly, and not only that it allows us to save our messages for later use. and this also help us in business, we can see that most if not all the companies and even small shops are using the email in their communication with their suppliers or customers, but still most of the companies and small shops are making a big mistake by using the personal email (like email@yahoo, email@hotmail, email@gmail etc..) instead of using an email customized for their business.

Lets see together what is the good and the bad side in using a personal email in my business:

Positive result:

  • Reducing costs in my work or company.

that’s it, no other positive result, even that in most cases will be negative result as you will see down if you continue reading.

Negative results:

  • Deactivating Account: You email account can be deactivated by the main company who gave you this email like Google, or Microsoft or Yahoo at any time for any reason, like suspecting that this email is sending spams, or any other reason that the company think about it. in this case not only you will lose the way in contact with your audience, but also remember  the cost reducing we talked about it up in the positive result, it will cost you more if you lose only one customer for this reason, what it you lost more than one client?
  • Bad Image for our business: a lot of companies will not take your first contact as serious contact or as potential business partner, because the first thing they do is to look at your company or work website, even if you have under construction website that will be better than not having a website at all, so having a business email will shows the companies that you are contacting that you are a professional person who wants to move his business to the next level, even if you have a small coffee shop.
  • Not controlling your account: as we said before that the main company like Google or other will be able to manage your account and put their own procedure on it, like reducing the storage for your account as we saw with Hotmail, while if you have a Paid business email the company will stick with the storage they gave you when you subscribed with them.

Conclusion:

You might be thinking when you use a personal email for your business that you are reducing costs, but in real you will be increasing the cost even if you didn’t have a deactivated account for reducing the storage, because as we said, your business image will not be strong. imagine a business man entering your shop to sell you a product and he doesn’t have a business card or a  company profile that shows you his company work, how likely you will be satisfied to buy from him?

Now the big question is how do I get a business email, well the short answer is by signing up with the same big companies like Google or Microsoft, but this time not for a personal email,  but for paid business email.

and it is more preferred to use the help of web services providers to do this step, because they have more experience in managing the emails for you.
