Web Development for Lebanese Businesses Selling to Canada and the UAE

Selling only to customers inside Lebanon is one kind of business. Taking your first order from Toronto or Dubai is a different one, and most local websites simply aren’t built for it 🌍.

If you’re building a website in Lebanon but selling to customers in Canada, the UAE, or anywhere outside the region, the local playbook stops working. Here’s what actually breaks, and what to fix before it costs you a sale.

1. Currency, Payment Gateways, and Checkout Friction 💳

Most web builders in Lebanon set up one gateway and call it done. That works until a Canadian client tries to pay in CAD through a processor that only settles in USD, or a UAE customer expects a checkout flow that supports Telr or PayTabs and gets a payment form that clearly wasn’t built with them in mind. Interac is the default expectation in Canada. Telr and PayTabs dominate checkout in the UAE. If your site forces every buyer through a single Lebanese-friendly gateway, you’re asking international customers to accept your currency risk and your unfamiliar checkout flow. Multi-currency pricing and region-aware payment options aren’t a luxury add-on here. They’re the difference between a completed order and an abandoned cart.

2. Server Location and Load Times on the Other Side of the Planet 🌐

A site hosted on a single Beirut server can feel instant to a local visitor and noticeably slower to someone in Vancouver or Abu Dhabi, because every request has to cross an ocean and back before the page even starts rendering. Cloudflare’s edge network fixes most of this by caching static assets close to wherever the visitor actually is, but only if it’s configured for it, not just installed and left on defaults. A slow first load is one of the fastest ways to lose someone who found you through a Google search in a different country.

3. Legal Pages, Cookie Consent, and Local Compliance 📜

Canada’s PIPEDA and the UAE’s data protection framework both expect a real privacy policy that names what you collect and why, not a copy-pasted template with your Lebanese company’s name swapped in. Cookie consent banners, return policies, and even the language you use for pricing disclosures all shift depending on who’s reading them. A privacy page that clearly wasn’t written for a Canadian or Gulf audience reads as a small business that hasn’t scaled past its home market, which is exactly the impression you don’t want when you’re trying to land a first order from outside Lebanon.

Selling from Lebanon to customers in Canada, the UAE, or anywhere else takes more than a translated homepage. Talk to us about custom web development built for international clients, and we’ll make sure your site is ready for the order that comes in from outside Lebanon, not just the one that comes from down the street.
